OpenSocial is here!

As you may have seen on TechCrunch and in the New York Times, Google is days away from the developer launch of Open Social.

As a trusted tester/launch partner, we’ve been busy porting our social shopping suite (such as Visual Bookshelf) to OpenSocial.

I’ll follow up tomorrow with more thoughts, but I wanted to congratulate the OpenSocial team on the upcoming launch. We’re definitely excited!

How does the platform perform when it comes to i18ln? Most of your potential customers on orkut will be speaking Portuguese.

  2. Sean,

    Take a look at: http://code.google.com/apis/gadgets/docs/i18n.html
Folks have already started leveraging message bundles in orkut sandbox implementations.

is the opensocial version of visual bookshelf going to be supported on mobile – I saw some notes about facebook eventually making access to mobile web available on facebook mobile but not sure when that would be, I’m thinking OpenSocial apps on Orkut or elsewhere would also have a lag on launching to mobile web as well. Is there a timeline?

    Hi

We are in the process of testing a widget application we developed using OpenSocial API. We have already tested the application successfully in Orkut, MySpace and Hi5.

We are excited to know that your site also support widgets developed using OpenSocial. Appreciate if you could guide us to test our application in your site.

Your earliest response would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

    Subha
